The Great African Balloon Adventure - Okavango Delta.


Arrived at Crocodile Camp in Botswana.
It is HOT!!
Unlikely to get online in the next few days - or post pics.
But I'll try!!

I'm borrowing a laptop from 2 cool dudes who are trying to get mine online in a cybercaf in MAUN.
Just realised they are absorbed by my picture files!! Rascals!

I'd better get back to camp - my tummy's rumbling!

PS. Ran over a Black Mamba en route!!
PPS. Yesterday I photographed a pack of Wild dogs. About 10 of them. And I later learned how rare that was - 25 packs left in Africa.

Frank is our director, and a jolly good job he's doing! It's a gruelling task keeping control of the schedule with so many things that scupper his plans - not the least of which is the weather! We see him here preparing for a landing amongst a herd of Buffalo and you can see his calm demeanor reassuring his fellow balloon passengers that all will be well. Standing beside Frank is Becca from the production team looking positively excited at the prospect at landing amongst Buffalo - thus demonstrating her skill at not being phased by occasional dramas and generally spreading good cheer all around and keeping control of the rest of us. Sydney...again

Yup.  Back in Sydney and the rain is falling here too. Never mind.  I had tea today with a lovely Lady from Guyana. She's something high up in the city. Sydney City. 16th floor to be exact. The first black woman cabinet minister. A very smart Lady. Adam drove me there and I wish he'd been there to keep his beady eye on me.  Too late now (blush). So he then took me for a tour of Sydney via THE harbour bridge. Cough up $200 and you can walk over the top. Well... forget that. For a wee bit more you can take an aerial tour in a SEA PLANE !! I confess I am tempted.  Watch this space..... The bridge is like an enormous meccano set and is affectionately known as the 'Coathanger' It was opened on March 19th 1932 by Premier Jack Lang after six years of construction. Made of steel the bridge contains 6 million hand driven rivets. The surface area that requires painting is equal to about the surface area of 60 sports fields.
