As Robin ventures out from his Old Candle Factory each morning, he will sometimes share sights, sounds, sentiments and smells.
Quite how to share a smell in cyberspace may be beyond him....

At last I have got the old Woodie running, after several years sheltering in a shed.
It's saturday. It's the weekend. So before I upload pictures from my glorious flight this morning I'll read the paper online and see how England is getting on. What do I find? Read HERE ! But don't go away... the picture of sunrise over The Murray River is magic. And who cares if the horizon is not level? Neither was the basket. It's time to introduce some of the crew. Let's start with STEVE. He is THE MAN. Look at him. Scrambling in and out of his balcony being careful not to tread on the hanging flower baskets. He is completely fearless - despite being returned to Earth a week ago at 40mph in a wicker basket and dragged across hard rocks for what seemed like an eternity. He's also good with a camera. While we are on the letter 'S' I shall tell you a bit about Sarah after lunch. I think she's studying meteorology and wants a picture of a tree being struck by lightning. Popped up to Brisbane on a Virgin Blue. Sounds like the start of a song or a poem, but it was the start of a magic 24 hours spent with a good friend who I last saw 25 years ago. He has been a busy boy in the mean time. Sailed around the world. Married his lovely sweetheart who has produced two charming girls and they all live in a fantastic Carl Larsson -esque house. We visited the hangar containing The Southern Cross. Read about it HERE. And then we went a-wandering and found a few old cars..... And then we came home and peeped inside the Aladdin's Cave......... Champagne was poured and we talked until I fell asleep.... very happy.
I am now enjoying some welcome luxury in the Zambezi Sun Hotel which offers internet connection - hooray! We arrived at the chosen launch site this morning before sunrise to fly Chief Mukuni over his Palace. The wind was a little stromg, but we laid out the balloon full of optimism ( with a measure of apprehension in there too). A clap of thunder and drop of rain was all I needed to call a halt and then came an experience which I shall never forget. I had to enter Chief Mukuni's Palace for an audience and explain about the weather. Tradition required me to squat and clap 3 times before entering a small round hut where the Chief was sitting on his throne beneath 2 ENORMOUS tusks. The film guys had to all do the same so you'll be able to see it on TV in a few months! Fate had dealt us a good hand I think because the Chief said we'd do it tomorrow instead and this time he'll supply dancers at the take off!! So watch this space! Meanwhile - the crew have gone off white wate...
