The Great African Balloon Adventure - Sir Osis of the River.

Last night this boat docked at our bar and proceeded to live up to its name. ((Sir Osis of the River) Full of young folk with a thirst, the name of the boat brought a smile! They regaled us with tales of Crocs and Hippos in the river - and this was AFTER our ACE driver Adam had just swum across it after losing a game of Backgammon.
Today we are enjoying R & R in a cyber caff.

It's saturday. It's the weekend. So before I upload pictures from my glorious flight this morning I'll read the paper online and see how England is getting on. What do I find? Read HERE ! The Great African Balloon Adventure - Crew.

Frank is our director, and a jolly good job he's doing! It's a gruelling task keeping control of the schedule with so many things that scupper his plans - not the least of which is the weather! We see him here preparing for a landing amongst a herd of Buffalo and you can see his calm demeanor reassuring his fellow balloon passengers that all will be well. Standing beside Frank is Becca from the production team looking positively excited at the prospect at landing amongst Buffalo - thus demonstrating her skill at not being phased by occasional dramas and generally spreading good cheer all around and keeping control of the rest of us. Will is usually seen with a video camera bolted to his shoulder, but is seen here singing 'Jailhouse Rock' into his air microphone whilst Becca is reassuring him that the this new covered basket with seats will protect him from Buffalo on all future balloon landings. The Great African Balloon Adventure - Ngorogoro Crater

Click on images for bigger size. The night beside the Indian Ocean was truly memorable and the sound of the waves so welcome to prepare me for the first balloon flight the next morning. All went and now everybody knows what their balloon looks like The local kids enjoyed it too of course! Last night we stayed in the Coffee House Hotel in Arusha in the heart of coffee growing country. Mmmmmm delicious. And today we are heading for the higher ground of the Serengeti near the Ngorogoro Crater. My first free flight is scheduled for sunrise tomorrow morning. The drive here was a long one and the side of the road provided a constant source of amazement at how people live here in Tanzania. There are endless stalls selling everything, and workshops promising to repair everything. ashops promising every service you could ever want. We have good careful drivers who have keep their wits about them. And last night we had one van modified for the difficult terrain ahead!! This will be the last blo...
